- DID YOU KNOW?  St. Mary's has an app!  We are launching a NEW MOBILE APP that helps students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus, right from their phones. We know that families are using smartphones as a primary means to communicate. That’s why we’ve created an app that is custom-built for mobile. On the app, you can find the school CALENDAR, NEWS items, and a SOCIAL MEDIA feed, as well as contact information for STAFF. You can download the app for FREE from the Apple App Store or Google Play.  Search for "St. Mary's Pirates."  Follow this link to our website to find a short video explaining the new app: www.smpirates.org/article/231434?org=smhs

COVID-19 coronavirus.
- STAY INFORMED.  When we made the decision to move St. Mary's to distance learning on March 12, there were about 5,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the US reported on that day.  On April 2, the last day for which the data is stable (14 days in the past), the number of new COVID-19 cases was over 15,000.  Again, please take this seriously.  There is much speculation in the media about whether the world is overreacting or underreacting to this pandemic.  Only hindsight will tell us for sure if we "overed" or "undered."  For now, be safe, stay healthy.

How you can help
- GALA:  Register for the Gala.  It's easy and FREE.  Join us for an hour of fun, 8 pm-9 pm, this Saturday.  The Gala is virtual, but the fun is real.  The auction is online and open NOW!  There are tons of great items just waiting for your bid.  To register, go to www.smpirates.org, click on GALA, click on REGISTER.   The Gala will be LIVESTREAMED on Facebook. You do not need to be logged into FB or have a FB account to watch the one hour Gala.

To watch without a Facebook account, on Saturday, go to our website at  www.smpirates.org and click on Gala at the top of the homepage. The Facebook stream will be embedded on the page, but if, for whatever reason, you lose that video, just click on the "Watch Live" button on that embedded post. That will take you to the Facebook video, even if you don't have a Facebook account.

- (Repeat) ENROLLMENT.  The first deadline for returning students registration fees is TOMORROW, April 15.  After Wednesday, registration fees increase.  HOWEVER, if you need some additional time to turn in your registration fee, please contact the Business Office.  As long as you are ENROLLED by TOMORROW, we will work with families individually on the registration fee.  Again, please enroll so we can make staffing decisions for the upcoming school year, and if you need flexibility on the timing of your registration fee, contact us now.  We will work with you.

Parents, Students, how are you doing?
- DO YOU NEED TO CHANGE?  Are you just surviving shelter-in-place, or are you truly thriving?  If you're not thriving yet, then make a change.  Early to bed, early to rise, go for a walk, read a book, say a prayer.  Misattributed to Albert Einstein is the expression:  "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result."  If you want to be thriving, but you're only surviving, you need to stop jiving, you must start striving, then you will be driving, and no longer be depriving, and ultimately arriving, at a place where you can be reviving.  All it takes is a little bit of change... (With sincere apologies to the entire English Department...)

Reminders.
- RAFFLE TICKETS.  All sold and UNSOLD tickets need to be returned to the Business Office by NOON THURSDAY (the day after tomorrow).  You may drop them through the mail slot to the right (west) of the main school doors.

Tuesday Trivia.
- In the northwest corner of the courtyard, there is a plaque attached to a piece of stone underneath a tree.  The plaque bears the name of the St. Mary's graduate for whom the original St. Mary's athletic fields were named. A $25 Dutch Bros gift card goes to the student who e-mails me the person's name (first and last name).  A $10 bonus if you also name the year the person graduated from St. Mary's.  You have until the start of prayer and Pledge and Announcements tomorrow (Wednesday) to submit your answers. Include a parent on your e-mail to me, or be disqualified!

Prayer.  Please continue to pray with us and pray with our community:

THE MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.

Respectfully,
Rob Rysavy
