Parents,

The first seven hours of the 2020-2021 school year are in the book!  During those seven hours we learned much. First and foremost, we reinforced what we already knew—this school comes alive when your kids come through those doors! I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to see kids in the classrooms, the hallways, and the labs once again.

Friday was a quick run through; today was the real deal.

As expected, we saw some areas of our operation where things went very well. We also found some cracks in our armor, and we are already busy addressing those shortcomings. We need your help in this endeavor. I invite your observations from today and tomorrow from a parent's perspective. I need to hear about "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" of our first two days.

There are some issues that we will address ASAP, and with that in mind, I am utilizing this Friday as a day to update and reinforce areas identified as concerns. This Friday will be a teacher work day specifically targeted to address those issues. I believe that the time spent addressing the issues we have uncovered during the first two days of school will return huge benefits to your children throughout the rest of the school year.

I want us to address concerns as they arise and fix them. The process of educating high school age students in a pandemic is new to the entire world. As stated earlier, we are striving to keep your kids healthy and educate them in a way that prepares them to be the leaders of tomorrow. You have my word that we will strive to improve every day of this journey.

God Speed
