F-1 VISA AND SEVIS I-20 INFORMATION
St. Mary’s does provide the I-20 required for F-1 visas for qualified international students. Providing personalized attention throughout the application process,St. Mary’s works directly with a family or agency. A live interview (via SKYPE or Facetime) provides both student and staff a chance to meet one another. Upon acceptance, a registration fee will need to be paid before an I-20 can be created. Once created, the I-20 will be mailed (via Fed-Ex) to the student’s home address or representative international agency.
No outside agency is required but recommended for families not familiar with the area. International students who choose to attend St. Mary’s will live with a host family during their stay.A local coordinator regularly checks on the students and host families and provides outside opportunities for cultural experiences. There is a host family fee ($650/month) and a local coordinator fee $1500/year. Fees are paid directly to the LOCAL COORDINATOR and HOST FAMILY.
A LOCAL COORDINATOR is REQUIRED when the school is contacted to find a host family. Agencies may provide their own local coordinator and their fee is included in the agency’s contract.
ONE-YEAR ACADEMIC PROGRAM FOR F1 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Students choosing to enroll in our one-year academic program are choosing to learn more about American culture while also taking strong academic courses for credits that will transfer back to their high school transcript in their own country. St. Mary’s is a college-prep, Catholic high school. The courses and electives in which International students will enroll represent this. The age, grade level of the student, and qualifications of the student will all be used to determine course selection.
